Great Location and Great Bunch of Guys.
I had the pleasure of visiting the San Diego Air & Space Museum Annex at Gillespie Field last May. The guys were very helpful with my question. "Where's my plane?" They have my old airplane a 1936, J-2 Taylor Cub (N16958) there that they are restoring. I have been looking for this plane since I sold it back in the 1960's. It is in pieces right now and the engine (A Conitnental A40-4 Single Mag, 36 HP) was out for overhaul and re-certification. I will be back in San Diego latter this month (March 2014) and hope to go out and see the progress.
